Careers at William Morris Wallpaper

A small team building the modern home for William Morris’s design legacy. We have one open role on the customer team right now, and we’re always glad to meet people who care about the work.

Open positions

Customer Service Representative

Remote · United States Full-time Customer team

William Morris Wallpaper custom-prints William Morris and Arts and Crafts wallpaper to order and ships it across the United States. We’re looking for a Customer Service Representative to be the voice of the brand for our customers, from a first question about samples all the way through a finished install. You’ll work remotely as part of a small, distributed team, and you’ll own the customer experience end to end.

What you’ll do

  • Answer customer emails and messages about samples, sizing, finishes, shipping, and installation, clearly and warmly.
  • Help customers measure their walls and choose the right finish, whether that is Peel & Stick, Luxe Traditional, or Luxe Peel & Stick.
  • Own orders from checkout to doorstep: track production and delivery, sort out issues, and follow up so nothing slips.
  • Handle returns, reprints, and the occasional damaged-in-transit claim with good judgment and a level head.
  • Notice the questions that keep coming up, and help us improve the guides, FAQs, and product pages that prevent them.

What we’re looking for

  • A year or more in customer service, support, or another customer-facing role. Ecommerce or interiors experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Genuinely good writing. You explain things simply, kindly, and without jargon.
  • Organised and self-directed, comfortable owning a queue without someone watching over your shoulder.
  • Reliable home internet and a quiet place to work during US business hours.
  • An eye for detail and a real interest in design and pattern. That last part is a bonus, not a must.

The details

  • Remote, anywhere in the United States.
  • Full-time, around 40 hours a week across US business hours, with some flexibility.
  • Works closely with the small operations and customer team.

Product and design

Curation, pattern selection, colourways, photography, and the look and feel of the catalogue.

Customer

Pre-sale advice on samples and sizing, post-sale support through install, and the writing that makes both clear.

Operations

Production, fulfilment, supplier relationships, and the systems that keep orders moving without surprises.

Growth and technology

Storefront, marketing, analytics, and the tooling we build internally to ship faster than a team our size should.

Who tends to do well here

The team is intentionally lean. The people who thrive own outcomes end-to-end rather than tasks. They write clearly, think clearly, and have a genuine interest in design, pattern, and the craft tradition this brand sits in. They’re comfortable working remotely with a small, distributed group, and they’re happy to ship something good this week instead of something perfect next quarter.

If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you, whether or not we’ve posted the exact role you do.

A few common questions

Do you have specific roles open right now?

Yes. We’re currently hiring a remote Customer Service Representative, listed under Open positions above. Beyond posted roles, we hire when the work clearly calls for it, so sending a note in advance means you’re the first person we reach when something opens.

Is the team remote?

Yes. The team is distributed and works asynchronously, with regular sync points for design and planning.

Do you take interns or contractors?

Occasionally, for defined projects. If that’s what you’re looking for, say so in your note and include the kind of scope you’d be a fit for.

What happens after I submit?

We read every note that comes in. If we see a fit, either now or for something on the horizon, you’ll hear from us directly. If we don’t, we keep your note on file.
