Roberts Studio Design

Five patterns designed with Ariel Roberts of Roberts Studio Design in Phoenix, AZ, inspired by her print collaboration with local photographer Ashley Guice Creative: surreal still lifes of pears and French horns on stone plinths, calla lilies paired with cabana stripes, a pear orchard dancing with pink tomatoes, ditsy florals in different phases of bloom, and callas ink-washed in black on cream. Organic and geometric. And slightly off kilter.

Choosing from the Roberts Studio collection

Where it works

Three of the five patterns were created as murals, larger in scale and one continuous image across the wall: the Cabana Calla Mural in a mudroom or a sunroom, the Inkbloom Calla Mural in a sitting room or library, the Orchard Song Mural in a kitchen or vestibule. The two repeating wallpaper designs fit anywhere: Wildflower Sky in a bedroom or entryway, and Curiouso Still Life in a family room or a study.

Picking between the designs

Start with the effect you want: large-scale art or mid-scale pattern. The murals are art papered across a wall: white calla lilies against cornflower and ivory stripes, the same lilies in black ink mirrored into tall panels, pears and tomatoes on slim branches. The wallpapers are smaller in scale and easily retrofit to any space: sweet florals across a blue sky, and engraved objects balancing on plinths, the most surreal thing we print. Then colour: Cabana Calla is blue and white, Inkbloom Calla is black and cream with touches of olive green, Orchard Song is cream with citron and deep pink, Wildflower Sky is slate blue with ivory, and Curiouso Still Life is golden tan with yellows and aubergines.
