You know the wall. The one behind the bed, or the dining room painted twice and still not right. You have scrolled past hundreds of patterns and none of them quite fit: the green is too cold, the scale is too busy, and the flowers are almost the ones from your grandmother's curtains, but not quite.

This is what a custom design is for. Send us the room, the colors and the idea, and we will design wallpaper for that wall and no other, printed to order in Mesa, Arizona on the same papers as our collection and cut to the height of your wall.

How the design fee works

Bespoke wallpaper usually means paying a designer on top of the cost of printing. Ours works differently. The fee covers the design work: reading your brief, drawing the pattern and making the changes you ask for. When you order wallpaper printed from your design, the full fee comes back to you as credit on that order.

We send the credit with your finished design, and it comes off your wallpaper at checkout. If you go ahead with the wallpaper, the design costs you nothing.

Your colors on one of our best sellers

Love our Burgundy Sunflower but need it in the navy of your kitchen cabinets? We can recolor any of our best sellers, or any other design in our collection, to suit your room. Send a paint name, a fabric swatch or a photo of the space, and we will build the colorway around it.

A new pattern from your brief

It might be the lemons on the tree in your garden, the wildflowers on the hill behind the house, or a crest for a family study. Describe it, send photos or sketches, and we will draw it into a repeating pattern that lines up cleanly across every panel.

A mural from your artwork or photograph

A painting you love, a map of the city where you met, a landscape for a child's room. We will scale it across your wall as one continuous image and split it into numbered panels that go up in order.

How it works

  1. Order your custom design on this page, and we will email you to start your brief.
  2. Send us your wall measurements, a few photos of the room in daylight, the colors you are working with and anything that inspires you.
  3. We draw your design and send you a proof to review.
  4. Tell us what to change, and we will refine it until it feels right.
  5. Order a sample of the finished design and hold it against your wall in your own light.
  6. Order your panels, with your design fee credited back.

Your design can be printed on any of our three materials, in panels 19 inches wide and from 2 to 18 feet tall, so each panel arrives cut to the height of your wall.

What to send us

  • The width and height of each wall. Measure at the widest and tallest points, and note any sloped ceilings.
  • A few photos of the room in daylight, showing the floor, the trim and anything that will sit against the wall.
  • Your colors: paint names and codes, a fabric or tile swatch, or a photo of something whose color you love.
  • Your inspiration: patterns, pictures or sketches, however rough.
  • For a mural, the largest version of the image you have. Photos straight from a phone camera usually work well. Small images saved from a website usually do not.

Questions about custom wallpaper

Is the design fee refundable?

The fee pays for the design work, so it is not refunded on its own. It is credited back in full when you order wallpaper printed from your design.

Can you match my paint color exactly?

We match as closely as print allows. Ink on paper never looks quite the same as paint on a wall, and the light in your room changes both, which is why we suggest a sample of your finished design before you order panels.

How many panels will I need?

We work out the panel count and height from your measurements and confirm them with your final design, so you only order what your wall needs.

Can I use my own artwork?

Yes. Send the largest file you have. If it is too small to print sharply at wall size, we will tell you before you order any panels.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes. We ship across the US and to Canada, the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand.
