Choosing nature wallpaper
Where it works
Most of these have sky or water in them, which is what a room needs when it feels smaller than it should. Sky Swallows and Grey Cloud open a bedroom or a landing outward. Silver Sprigs, bare branches and dotted seed heads on soft grey, is the most reticent design here and suits a hallway. The magnolias, Magnolia Grove on sage-teal and Lilac Magnolia in loose watercolour, are living-room and bedroom designs. The trout go in a bathroom or a boot room.
Picking between the designs
Pick your element. Sky: Sky Swallows, Night Clouds, Black Clouds, Grey Cloud, Storm Sky, from washed blue to charcoal. Water: Speckled Trout, Rainbow Trout, River Trout, Brown Trout, all in rows on cream. Branch: Silver Sprigs, Burgundy Vine on a pale blue speckled like a thrush's egg, Sage Dogwood, Bumble Magnolia with its visiting bees, Lilac Magnolia, Magnolia Grove. The sky designs are the darkest and the most modern; the branch designs are painted and soft; the trout are drawn and dry. If you want one wall to read as a view, choose a sky; if you want the whole room papered, choose a branch.
