Choosing peel and stick William Morris wallpaper
Where it works
Peel and stick is the Morris for rented rooms, first flats and any wall you might change your mind about: a bedroom, a hallway, a home office, a powder room. It goes up without paste and comes off cleanly, so the usual advice about committing to a dark ground matters less. That said, the cream-ground pair, Fruit Light and Willow Bough Green, are still the ones for small or north-facing rooms, and the navy and red grounds, Strawberry Thief Blue and Strawberry Thief Red, still like lamplight.
Picking between the designs
Every card on this page opens on the Peel and Stick material, so pick the pattern first and the material is done. Peel and stick suits the smaller repeats best, because there is less to line up across seams: Larkspur Blue, Willow Bough, Sweet Briar. The large mirrored designs, Pimpernel Pink, Golden Lily, Persian and Acanthus, work too, but on a whole room the paste-the-wall version gives more time to match the heads across a seam, so consider it for anything beyond one wall. Standard Peel and Stick wants a smooth, flat, painted wall; on lightly textured walls choose the LUXE Peel and Stick option on the product page, which is thicker and sits flat where the standard stock struggles.
