Minimal patterns are for rooms where the furniture is the point: a living room with one good sofa, a study, a spare-looking bedroom. Silver Sprigs, bare branches on soft grey, is the quietest and goes anywhere. Cranberry Stripe, pinstripes in cranberry, black and pink on cream, suits a hallway or a study. Concrete Stripes and Indigo Circles, both textured and grey-based, are for rooms with concrete, steel or pale wood. Seated Women and Pastel Yoga, rows of figures in flat colour, are the two with a subject and suit a studio or a bathroom.

Picking between the designs

Ask whether you want texture or line. Texture: Indigo Circles, every disc scuffed with dry brush, and Concrete Stripes, mottled grey bands with stepped blocks in brick red and dusty pink. Line: Silver Sprigs and Cranberry Stripe, thin marks on a plain ground. Figure: Seated Women in coral, olive and teal robes on pale blue, Pastel Yoga in lotus poses on sage.
